The pre-school is Ofsted registered, with a 'GOOD' rating and has achieved CMS accreditation. Our policy is to recruit qualified staff who are friendly, committed and enthusiastic in their work with the children.
All children are allocated a key worker: a member of staff with individual responsibilities for a group of children. The key worker will make themself known to you and your child at the outset, establishing a point of contact for parents and carers. They will help settle your child into the pre-school and establish a bond with your child.
The Village Pre-school follows the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The staff undertake planning for children at the pre-school to help with their growth in all areas of the curriculum and in doing so, develop their independence and relationships with both peers and adults, as well as acquainting them with day-to-day routines before moving onto reception.
Parents and carers are the first and most important educators of their children. The work of the pre-school cannot be fully effective unless we work together in your child’s interest. Parents and carers are asked to become involved in the pre-school. Help is always welcomed during sessions. This may involve helping with fundraising events, assisting with outings/visits or becoming a committee member. Most roles do not require full time commitment, just occasional help.
The Village Pre-School is governed by a management committee made up of volunteers. The committee is formed mainly by parents and carers of children attending the pre-school. The Annual General Meeting is held in October, when the management committee for the following year is elected.
