Forest Training Day!
Yesterday all the Pre-school staff went on a training day to learn about the Forest school movement - it's methods and ethos. It seems that there is so much that the Pre-school does already that is of the same mind - providing stimulation but allowing children to lead their own play and giving them opportunity to follow up on and develop what interests them, at their pace. It was not only thought-provoking, but a lot of fun! All the staff are brimming with ideas of how to use all the outdoor space in the new setting for children centred play and learning. In September their trainer will come and visit the Pre-school for another day's training to discuss their ideas and get advice on how best to put them in to action. Everyone is very excited and looking forward to the new term!!
